Founders

Gina Diez Barroso

Gina Diez Barroso

Founder
Gina has been a pioneer in the fields of arts and education for almost 30 years. In 1990 she created Grupo Diarq, a leading real estate company, with eight subsidiaries, over 600 employees, and offices in Mexico and the US. In 2004 she founded CENTRO, the first university in Mexico specialized in creative studies with a business focus. In 1992 she established Fundación Diarq, a non-profit that works towards eradicating domestic violence and preventing bullying in schools. In 2004 she founded Fundación Pro-Educación Centro to grant merit-based scholarships for creative studies. She sits on several international boards, is the only Mexican women in the C200 (Global Women Business Leaders). Gina is the Mexican representative of the W20 - the women initiative of the G20. She was also selected as the Women Business leader task force representative that reports directly to the G20.

Alba Medina

Co-founder
Alba is a serial entrepreneur and investor in global start-ups. She is a Co-founder of Dalia Empower (the first vertically integrated ecosystem for the empowerment of women in Latin America). She is a passionate advocate for women and girls, as well as an active member in more than 15 national and international boards. As a hobby, she enjoys writing about women's empowerment, participating in conferences on gender equality and entrepreneurship, as well as promoting and mentoring young women through different organizations such as ''The Cherie Blair Foundation for Women'' and ¨Lean In Organization¨. She holds a Bachelor of Financial Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and a Masters in Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. She has held multiple positions in the financial sector, mainly in the area of investment banking in the areas of M&A, ECM and DCM. Alba is a judge of the ''Cartier Women's Initiative Awards'', she was selected as a Rising Talent by the Women's Forum for Economy and Society, and was awarded the ''Entrepreneur of the Year'' award by the Chamber of Commerce of the city of Guadalajara. In addition, Alba was selected in 2018 as one of ''The 100 Most Powerful Women in Mexico'' by Forbes magazine.

MARIA DEL CARMEN BERNAL

Co-founder
Maricarmen founded and directed the Research Center for Women in Senior Management of the IPADE Business School, and was a professor in the Personnel Management area. With a Ph.D. in Pedagogy from the University of Navarra, she is an expert an academic reference on Inclusion and Diversity with a gender focus. She has counseled educational institutions, lectured and authored books and articles about women in senior management. She counseled Walmart México on Gender Equality and Inclusion and was a Mexican delegate for women at the China, Germany and Turkey in the W20 initiative, from G20. In 2011 she received the “Construye Woman Award” for her research in education and women, and was named one of Mexico’s 100 most powerful women by Forbes in 2016 and 2017.

Academic Director

Alina has worked for over 20 years in education and human resources development. She established and headed the e-learning system of the Mexican Diplomatic Academy, Instituto Matías Romero, and has taught several courses on International Relations in leading universities like ITESM and Universidad Iberoamericana. More recently, she led the office of teacher education for the use of educational technology at the Mexican Ministry of Education. Alina founded a non-profit organization devoted to breaching the digital gap that marginalizes senior citizens. She holds a BA degree on International Relations from El Colegio de México, and two master’s degrees, on International Policy Studies and Communication, from Stanford University.

Operations Director

She has collaborated in various public and private education institutions. At the Universidad del Caribe, Cancún, she was in charge of the ​​International Liaison department, achieving agreements of national and international academic mobility for academic exchange. In the same way, she started the continuous education area. As Head of the School Services Department, she specialized in processes of state and federal education regulations, as well as the certification of these. She has experience in the area of ​​Human Capital collaborating in transnational companies such as Adecco, where she enhanced her commercial profile.

Graphic Design Coordinator

Graphic designer, has experience in advertising agencies where she worked with important brands for brand activations, branding, etc. Lover of good design and aesthetics in all its presentations. Makeup artist by hobbie and now part of the graphic communication in Dalia Empower, her role is to take care of Dalia's image by communicating in the most creative and striking way the message we want to give. Caro believes faithfully in justice, honesty, empathy and in the power of women ... and of course that life´s always better with a dog.

Alliance and Special Projects Coordinator

Isabel has worked in e-commerce, publishing and politics for various startups and organizations. She studied fashion design at Studio Degli Abiti and her passion is to develop companies with high social value to address the vulnerability of humanity. Her objective is to obtain greater knowledge, developing leadership skills and teamwork, in companies with a purpose.

Nicole Figot

Research and Innovation Manager

Nicole has worked in public policy and social development nationally and internationally, in organizations including Fundación IDEA, The Hunger Project, and UNDP. She has a Master's in Public Administration from Columbia University focused on gender policy, and a Bachelor in International Relations from Universidad Iberoamericana. She has created strategies for organizations looking to promote diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Additionally, she is part of the startup team of the Society for Gender Professionals.

Daniel Hernandez

Producer Coordinator

Self-taught multidisciplinary artist. Of theatrical training in the areas of stage direction and acting, within the College of Dramatic Literature and Theater, of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, UNAM. In addition to his work on stage, has ventured into the realization of projects of illustration, writing, sculpture-modeling, music, advertising, digital animation and even pastry. He is currently studying Engineering in Digital Design and Animation.

María, Professional in Customer Services, Public Relations and Sales. She's passionate in providing customers with excellence standards, and always in the pursuit of exceeding their expectations. She holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and Interpreter English - Spanish. She has experience in the tourism sector, airlines, hotels and travel agencies, as well as in the hospital industry. She was ambassador of the Mexican Culture in the Up With People Group in U.S.A., Europe and The Soviet Union.

Operations Manager

Guillermo has extensive experience in the public sector and has collaborated in different federal government departments, mainly developing institutional management actions. In the social development sector promoted actions of organized civil society through the development of community development projects, gender, human rights and work with groups in vulnerable situations. He coordinated the management control in the Undersecretariat of Population, Migration and Religious Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior, generating an efficient flow in the attention of institutional matters and citizen requests.

Cristina has worked creating learning experiences in academic institutions for over 12 years. She is a specialist in training teachers and leading working teams. She holds a Bachelor´s Degree on Pedagogy and has studies in Argentina and Spain on several educational and coaching topics. Throughout her career, she has helped a lot of people find their life & work purpose through coaching experiences.

Before Dalia Empower, Alex was a CTO of Pop.Space, lead diferent initiatives like Moyo AI, Cloud Computing America, based in México. He's been involved in projects for enterprise costumers like Coca-Cola, General Motors, Pfizer,Honda, etc. He has been active in the open source projects contributing in various of them.

Content Creator for New Generations

Ivana De Maria has a Bachelor in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Law from Boston University. She also completed studies at the Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland and at the Stella Adler Acting School in New York. Ivana specializes in storytelling, writing, producing, and acting. She has starred in, among others, LA PILOTO (Univision and Televisa) and is currently producing and starring in a series of independent films based on stories about inspiring women and producing series for Netflix and HBO. Ivana is a member of Visionary Women's Leadership Circle and Justice for Migrant Women; she is also the founder of StoryPlace, a social platform that promotes empathy through real life stories (to launch in late 2018).
